Distance/Online Learning

DISTANCE/ONLINE LEARNING BEGINS APRIL 6, 2020

LAST DAY OF INSTRUCTION MAY 14, 2020

Catoosa Public Schools Students and Families:

Although we never imagined ending our school year like this, our CPS staff has jumped in and quickly adapted to our new norms and this unprecedented time.  But, before we get into our new plan, we first and foremost want you and your family to be safe and healthy.  We know some of our parents are working while students stay with family or at daycare, some of our families don’t have the Internet, some of our parents have lost employment….we are here to work with you and your students.  We are here to do what’s best for “our” kiddos!

As for our plan, our administrators, teachers and support staff have been working hard and we believe our Distance/Online Learning Plan will allow us to keep students on track, while also protecting what is most important – their health and well-being.  We are all anxious to get started on April 6 so we can reconnect with our students and families. We have missed you!!

A change of this magnitude will not occur without bumps in the road; however, with your help, I am confident we can offer the best services possible for our students. We understand this ongoing instruction cannot be delivered through a one-size-fits-all approach. Schools are at their best when the community works together, and now is the perfect time for us to shine. You were and continue to be your child’s first and most important teacher. While our faculty and staff will be leading the way, we know you will be encouraging, supporting and teaching your child side-by-side with us.

We miss our students terribly, but we are trying to make the best of the situation for everyone. Thank you for helping us rise to this challenge. We could not do it without you.
