PowerSchool

Dear Catoosa parents and families,

We want to make you aware of an important issue concerning our Student Information System (SIS), which is powered by PowerSchool, our software vendor.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool informed us that they experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain customer data. This breach was a global event, and it was not specific to Catoosa Public Schools.

The data affected primarily includes parent and student contact information, such as names and addresses. PowerSchool has confirmed that, in some cases, personally identifiable information (PII) like social security numbers and medical details were impacted for certain individuals. They are currently investigating to determine if any of our students' PII was involved, and we will keep you updated as soon as we have more information.

We want to reassure you that protecting your child's data is a top priority for us. PowerSchool is working quickly to investigate and address the situation. As part of their response, they will be providing resources for affected individuals, including credit monitoring or identity protection services, as applicable. You will be notified directly if these services are available to you.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work with PowerSchool to address this issue.

In service,

Robert Schornick
